Bible School
We would like to invite you to come to our Bible Classes. Our classes have always been open to the community in order to encourage all to open God's word and study it for themselves. The Bible says that "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We believe that Biblical education is paramount. In order to be "adequate" for God's work, a solid foundation of Biblical Instruction must be laid. If not, we can be tossed about by "every wind of doctrine" (Ephesians 4:14). We strive for spiritual maturity (Hebrews 5:11-6:2), to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus (2 Peter 3:17-18), Being transformed in our hearts and minds to think and practice Godliness (Romans 12:2). As a result, we have Bible classes for all ages, from cradle roll (6 weeks) to Adults. If you have any questions about our classes, please give us a call (254-6906) or e-mail us.
Junior Worship
Junior Worship is a ministry designed for our 3 to 6 year old children. During the sermon time, these children can go to a worship session designed for their level. Singing songs, interactive discussions, quizzes, and puppet plays all serve to make each lesson memorable. The aims of this ministry are to teach children some fundamentals concerning worship, and to encourage good behavior in worship.
The Weigh Down Workshop
This Christian based program is not "dieting" which we define as making the food behave. Taking out all of the fat, sugar, calories, etc. and replacing them with "fluff" only increases the desire for food. Years of dieting only increases slavery to food. Dieting has drained us emotionally, if not financially, and has exacerbated rather than solved our problems. This 12 week series will teach you how to change you desire and want for food. You will learn that head hunger (the urge to eat when the body is not calling for it) is not true physical hunger, but a spiritual hunger. We will learn to replace this head hunger with the will of God, so that it will transform into a hungering and thirsting after righteousness. The food is not what changes, but rather the person. Benevolence Ministries
We have several benevolence ministries designed to help not only our members, but those ourside the body as well. During the holidays, we like to involve our children in putting together gift food baskets for the needy and delivering them. We also have a food pantry for those in need of groceries. In addition to all of these, the congregation has arisen time after time to meet specific needs on a spur of the moment.
Annual Campaigns
The congregation involves itself in reaching out in a formal way by conducting campaigns, usually with outside help. Youth groups, preaching students, and other congregations will come to Brattleboro to assist in reaching out to the lost with the Gospel. Things such as Revivals, Vacations Bible School, and neighborhood canvassing to search out the searching have all been employed in this type of outreach.
